Should You Get a Gaming Laptop or a Gaming Computer?

Should You Get a Gaming Laptop or a Gaming Computer?

Are you into gaming? If so and you want to be able to engage more with the games that you play on then, you might have decided to upgrade what you’re using to play on. If you want to stay clear of consoles, then you are left predominantly with the options of a gaming PC or a gaming laptop.

If you’re currently deciding between the two, then you’ve stumbled across an age-old debate that has been rambling on for years, namely, which is better? The fact is that both these options have their pros and cons, which are going to be discussed in more detail below.

The performance of your device is going to depend largely on the kinds of games that you go on. For instance, if you like to play on online gambling games and often take advantage of free games that are available on a number of different online casinos, you shouldn’t worry about performance too much as these games don’t take a great deal of power to run.

On the other hand, if you’re going to be playing more in-depth games such as Dota 2 and Overwatch that have really impressive graphics and require a large amount of processing power, you’re going to need to consider this factor when choosing between a laptop and a computer.

Computers generally have much better performance although a lot of modern gaming laptops are able to match it. The only issue you have with laptops like these is that for a high-quality one that operates as well as a computer, you’re going to need to fork out a bit more cash.

One of the main things that you’re going to need to consider is if you’d like a computer that you can use anywhere, or if you’d rather have one which is bulkier and heavier but comes with a lot more customisation options and ports. Let’s consider the two:

  • Laptop

One of the main strengths of the laptop is the fact that it’s portable. When you have the right model, you’re going to be able to do everything that you would on your desktop, but from anywhere in the world. If you’re away from home a lot and don’t want to miss out on valuable gaming time, then a laptop is certainly an excellent idea.

  • Desktop

Desktops are a lot bigger and as such don’t come with the same level of portability that laptops do. Even the smallest desktops that are out there need a power outlet and a monitor and as such, they’re hardly something that you’re going to be able to whip out on the train and use. That said, there are a number of benefits that come with using desktops as well. For instance, they are a lot more customisable than laptops are, they can be set up with multiple monitors for a better gaming experience and they are a lot more powerful.
