The Reddit mobile app doesn’t get big updates often, with the exception of this week, where the company has added a new “discovery tab” and menu for managing subscriptions.
of Blog post Reddit, which announced this feature, has 1 in 5 users.[発見]After using the tab, he states that he has joined at least one new community. Jason Costa, director of Reddit content and community products, provided the following statement in his blog post:
We are leading a new era of discovery on Reddit with images and videos in mind.[検出]Use tabs to make discovering related content and communities more intuitive. This is a great new way for people to explore and interact with hundreds of thousands of communities around the world.
[検出]Tabs become top-level app navigation,[コミュニティとサブスクリプション]Replaced by tabs. Tap it to see a scrollable grid list of Reddit content from various subredds that you may not have followed yet.
According to Reddit[検出]Tabs are populated with content based on both the subreddits you’re already following and the time you’ve spent on them. Therefore, if you spend a lot of time on r / OLED, tabs may display content from other home theaters or technical subreddits. On the other hand, if you subscribe to r / Xbox but don’t access it often, you may see content such as Halo subreddit, but not from frequently used topics. ..
Reddit uses demographic data such as age, gender, location, etc.[検出]It states that it does not decide what content to display on the tab. It’s purely based on past Reddit browsing and engagement.
You can also drill down into categories such as “Technology” and “Sports”. You can also provide feedback on individual content using options such as Show more of this content, Show less of that content, and Hide that content. This will affect what will be displayed on the tabs in the future.
There are many other changes. for example,[コミュニティとサブスクリプション]Many of the tab’s features can be found by swiping from the left. From there, you have the option to access the subreddit features you want to moderate, sort and customize your community, evaluate the list of Redditors you’re following, and, of course, go to the r / all entry point.
Of course, this is all included in the official Reddit app for iOS and Android. There are several third party Reddit clients, Costa told The Verge “We have no plans to publish the API at this time.” Discover tabs will no longer be available in the web version of Reddit in the near future.
The new tab is currently being rolled out to Reddit Android and iOS users, but not all users will pop up updates at the same time.
