The Humboldt County Public Health Service today reported the death of a resident in his 60s due to COVID-19. The staff at the Department Operations Center condolences to all who have lost their loved ones to the virus.
Since Friday, residents in their 60s and two other new hospitalizations over the age of 80 have been reported. In addition, 336 new cases were reported, bringing the total number of locally confirmed virus-positive cases to 18,200.
Residents, including those who have not been vaccinated, frequently wash their hands and Appropriate mask approved by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 6 feet away from others if possible, avoid crowded and poorly ventilated areas. The state is under compulsory mask orders in all indoor public spaces until February 15.
The California Public Health Service (CDPH) recommends that individuals be tested if they are at home and away from others and become ill or experience symptoms of COVID-19. These symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, malaise, and muscle aches and often mimic common cold and flu illnesses.
Vaccines will continue to be readily available and, as always, Humboldt County vaccination and testing services will be available free of charge. Walk-ins are allowed at vaccination sites at all public health clinics and some pharmacies, but bookings are recommended for all vaccinations to ensure that shots are available during your visit. Is the best way to do it.Reservations can be made at MyTurn.ca.gov..
Vaccines, including boosters, are available at local pharmacies. To check the availability of a particular vaccine Vaccine.gov To find a nearby pharmacy offering the vaccine, open the page or text the zip code to 438829.
