According to ABC News, the shocking report on the baby boom in America shows that a Texas hospital delivered more 100 babies in less than 90 hours.
According to US media, the phenomenon occurred at Andrews Women’s Hospital, Fort Worth, over two two-day periods. Officials said that it took 91 hours to deliver 107 babies.
Officials at the hospital said that 25 girls and 27 babies were delivered in the 47-hour first period. In the second time period, 55 babies including a pair of twins, were delivered in 44 hours.
Michelle Stemley, director of nursing at Andrews Women’s Hospital, said that some women gave birth in operating rooms because the usual delivery rooms were full. We tried to not rush anyone, but we certainly weren’t lingering. She said that we moved them as soon as they were comfortable enough to move to the postpartum floor.
According to a press release, the hospital is well-known for its high rate of deliveries. It averages 16 per day. Andrews Women’s Hospital is a hospital that specializes in women’s healthcare. It also has one of the most extensive neonatal intensive care units in the state, with a capacity of 63 beds.
